By Christian Andrick

Ahead of Matchday 23, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.

1. FSV Mainz 05 v. Bayer 04 Leverkusen:

M: Moussa Diaby, Midfielder (B04, 14.8M, 3%) – Diaby has been in rare form the last few games, much like most of Leverkusen’s players. With five goals in the last three games, he is one of the hottest fantasy assets on the market right now.

D: Amine Adli, Midfielder (B04, 8.7M, 0%) – Adli doesn’t start many games, but when he does, he usually puts in a strong performance. In his last two starts, he has a goal and an assist and figures to be in the starting lineup again this week.

VfL Wolfsburg v. TSG Hoffenheim:

M: John Anthony Brooks, Defender (WOB, 9M, 2%) – Wolfsburg are finally starting to pull themselves out of the gutter and have grabbed wins in back to back games. Their defense will be the key to continuing this positive play and that will rely on Brooks playing his best football from here on out.

D: Jonas Wind, Forward (WOB, 9.2M, 0%) – Wolfsburg may just have too much momentum going into this match for Hoffenheim. Wind has been close to grabbing his first Bundesliga goal in his first two matches and as they say, “third time’s a charm”.

VfB Stuttgart v. VfL Bochum 1848:

M: Gerrit Holtmann, Midfielder (BOC, 5.8M, 2%) – Bochum have been great these last few weeks and their confidence is at an all-time high after knocking down Bayern. Holtmann is one of the main reasons for their success and Stuttgart are in free fall.

D: Jürgen Locadia, Forward (BOC, 6.4M, 0%) – Locadia has had a strong start with his new team, grabbing a goal and an assist in his first three starts since joining from Brighton. Bochum seem to be in free flowing form so Locadia could definitely grab a few against this defense.

FC Augsburg v. Sport Club Freiburg:

M: Lucas Höler, Forward (SCF, 8.9M, 2%) – Höler was very active in the last match, taking three shots and recording three chances created. He should have a better chance of connecting on one of those this week.

D: André Hahn, Forward (FCA, 9M, 1%) – Hahn took an impressive six shots last match and did score a goal in the match before as well. That is two successful matches started in a row with positive play and should make it three as Freiburg have not been at their best lately.

DSC Arminia Bielefeld v. 1.FC Union Berlin:

M: Stefan Ortega, Keeper (DSC, 8.3M, 6%) – Union have not been the same since Kruse left and their attack has certainly been lackluster. Ortega has a great chance of multiple saves and a clean sheet.

D: Sven Michel, Forward (FCU, 5.9M, 0%) – Brought in to replace Kruse, Michel got his first start last week to test the waters and now will be relied upon to start producing.

1. FC Cologne v. Eintracht Frankfurt:

M: Rafael Borré, Forward (SGE, 9.7M, 2%) – Both of these teams are coming off a bad loss so a rebound is a must. Borré specifically needs to turn some things around and has gone some time now without a goal. His fortunes could change this weekend.

D: Kristijan Jakic, Midfielder (SBU, 5.6M, 0%) – Jackic has been playing well and has taken an impressive nine shots in the last two games. This could be the match where he finally puts it all together.

FC Bayern Munich v. SpVgg Greuther Furth:

M: Joshua Kimmich, Midfielder (FCB, 17.3M, 41%) – No way Bayern gets upset two weeks in a row. Their midfield general should make sure of that this time.

D: Andreas Linde, Keeper (SGF, 4.9M, 0%) – Linde had nine points alone in saved shots last week. Bayern are inevitably going to take a lot of shots so the chance is there if Fürth try and play second spoiler.

Borussia Dortmund v. Borussia Monchengladbach:

M: Jonas Hofmann, Midfielder (BMG, 15.3M, 6%) – Which Dortmund will actually show up to this match is the question as we have seen two versions of this team in the last week between league and Europa play. Hofmann has been sensational as of late, grabbing a goal and two assists in his last three games.

D: Kouadio Koné, Midfielder (BMG, 7.4M, 1%) – The young Frenchman has been on an extremely impressive run of form lately. Two goals in his last three games is starting to make a lot of heads turn.

Hertha BSC v. RB Leipzig:

M: Angeliño, Defender (RBL, 14.7M, 15%) – Angeliño seems to be playing better lately and if you include the recent midweek Europa league match, he has a goal and an assist in his last two games. He could end the season on a very high mark.

D: Ishak Belfodil, Forward (BSC, 6.3M, 0%) – Belfodil did score two matchdays ago and should start upfront again. He has to continue playing well or Hertha are in serious danger.
