Roger Schmidt is seen as the favorite to take over as Hertha BSC coach at the end of the season, according to Sport Bild.
It has been announced that the 54-year-old will be leaving his current position as PSV Eindhoven coach at the end of the season, meaning he could take up a new challenge in the summer.
Back in November, Tayfun Korkut was appointed Hertha coach until the summer, at which point the German capital club will look to hire someone else.
Borussia Dortmund technical director Edin Terzic, Young Boys coach David Wagner, Hoffenheim coach Sebastian Hoeness and Niko Kovac, who left AS Monaco in January, are the other candidates on Hertha’s list, per Sport Bild.
However, the German publication claims that “everything speaks” for Schmidt, who could “well imagine” taking the job in the capital.
