In an interview with Spanish outlet ASMarseille defender Álvaro González notably spoke about his heated clash with Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar.
Asked about his clashes with the Brazilian and Lionel Messi, González pointed out that in the case of the latter they simply exchanged taunts whereas things got more personal with the former.
Neymar had accused the centre-back of racism during a Marseille win at the Parc des Princes in 2020, while they again exchanged blows over Twitter four months later after a particularly tense Trophée des Champions win for PSG.
“What happened with Neymar was different [to the tension with Lionel Messi]. I don’t like to recall it because it was ugly, he behaved badly in footballing terms and in terms of personal matters, and I don’t even want to remember because the truth is that he behaved very badly towards me.”
