Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest transfer update on Celtic, and it’s worrying news for the club’s fans.
What’s the story?
Amid speculation that Premier League club Leicester are interested in signing Josip Juranovic, Romano has now revealed where things currently stand with the full-back.
He said: “There is a lot of interest in Juranovic, a lot of clubs are looking at him. Many clubs will go for right-backs in the summer, it will probably be a market full of right-backs because many important clubs in important leagues need right-backs.
“Juranovic is doing great and there will be an opportunity I’m sure.”
Celtic fans will be worried
The 26-year-old has turned into a revelation following his move from Polish side Legia Warsaw and has emerged as a cornerstone of Ange Postecoglou’s side this season in the Premiership – in fact, between 23 October and 2 February, he had started all but two games in the league.
After turning in a high-class display against Rangers in the recent Old Firm clash, Juranovic received special praise from Celtic hero Frank McAvennie, who said: “Juranovic, wow, I’ve already said I was impressed with how he did up against Kent the other night. I didn’t really think he was that good just after he joined but he has really found his confidence. He links up well with Jota as well which is great to see. Ralston can’t really get a look these days.
“It’s just another sign of the depth we have now and that’s really what I wanted to see. Hopefully he keeps playing well and hopefully the team keeps playing well.”
It’s exactly why Romano’s update that there are a number of clubs interested in signing the Croatian is sure to have Celtic fans worried.
