IMAGE report this afternoon that Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle had been Ralf Rangnick’s number one candidate to improve their defense before the 26-year-old agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.
After losing out on Süle, who will join Borussia Dortmund in the summer on a four-year contract, Manchester United have now shown an interest in signing BVB central defender Manuel Akanji.
The Switzerland international has a contract with BVB until 2023 and has already rejected a contract extension offer, reportedly around €9.5m/year, according to sports1who are also reporting that Manchester United are interested in signing Akanji in the summer.
